Our Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Predictions

It’s difficult to look past the formidable partnership of Frankie Dettori and John Gosden for this year’s race, with ENABLE a clear favourite.
The six-year-old won his last race out back in September, beating off a tough field, and also picked up a win at Ascot at the end of July. A runner-up in 2019’s race, at 5/4 Enable looks a sure thing. William Hill's 50/1 price boost on Enable to win is an unmissable offer!
However, MOGUL will be a horse to keep an eye on. The Aidan O’Brien trained horse enjoyed a good win at Longchamp last month and will be ridden by Ryan Moore coming out of the same trap as Waldgeist last year. An each way bet could certainly be worthwhile with William Hill pricing the three-year-old at 14/1.

Other each way outside punts could come from SERPENTINE at 14/1, and IN SWOOP who can be backed at 12/1.

About

The popular Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is a prestigious flat horse race held annually in France. It’s open to thoroughbreds aged 3 or older only and has been held since 1920. It is one of the biggest and most popular horse races in the world and definitely the biggest in Europe.

There have been many acclaimed horses taking part in the Arc during its glorious history. The race is among the richest horse races in the world and takes place at the beautifully redesigned Paris Longchamp racecourse which is one of the most magnificent grandstands in the world. The race takes place on the first Sunday of each October and has a massive fan base, with thousands of people coming to Longchamp every year.

Besides the exciting race, the venue itself is quite unique. Redesigned and boasting a café, a stunning roof lounge, and a concert hall, Longchamp is really a marvellous venue and one of the best in the world. With a capacity of 50,000, Longchamp is a venue for other horse races as well and has been in use since 1875. It became the premier racecourse in Europe and was even visited by prominent artists such as Edgar Degas and Edouard Manet who have painted beautiful horse racing scenes at the Longchamp.

Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2019 Betting and Odds Preview

Last year, the legendary Frankie Dettori’s racehorse Enable surprisingly won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. This year’s competition will be held on the weekend of 6th and 7th October, featuring 9 races with 6 of them having a Group 1 status. Of course, the main attraction will be the Arc, where Dettori’s racehorse Enable will go for the second win in a row and bring the Italian jockey the nearly €3 million winner’s purse.

Can Enable and Dettori Win Twice in a Row?

Arc De Triomphe Odds

Frankie Dettori is one of the best jockeys horseracing has ever seen. The Italian/English jockey has ridden more than 3,000 winners in the UK which makes him a legend in the sport. The controversial Dettori managed to snatch up the main prize at Longchamp last year and there’s no doubt he’ll try to do it again.

His horse Enable has struggled to live up to expectations from a young age. However, following a few disappointments when she was 2 years old, Enable went on to become the most dominant middle-distance horse in Europe, winning prestigious events such as the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe last year as well as the Cheshire, Yorkshire, and Epsom Oaks. This year, bookies are aware that Dettori and Enable have another great shot at winning the Arc, which is why the horse has been made a heavy favourite.

Enable is available at 11/10 at RedZoneSports, SportPesa, Fun88, and MansionBet, and 5/4 at GentingBet. This makes Dettori’s racehorse a major favourite for the Arc and as you can see, the odds are pretty great. At 5/4 or 11/10, you will double your investment if the racehorse wins at Longchamp again, which is a pretty nice return if you ask us.

Can Sea of Class Spoil Dettori’s Plans?

Sea of Class is a 3-year old filly trained by William Haggas who has won a number of major events. Most recently, the racehorse won the prestigious Yorkshire Oaks a few other important races as well. Her jockey James Doyle is currently hoping to shave off a few pounds in order to make Sea of Class an even bigger favourite. The stars seem aligned in their favour thanks to the brilliant record 3-year fillies have at Longchamp, and Doyle is hoping that his racehorse picks up the main prize in the end.

At the moment, Sea of Class is second-favourite behind Enable to win the race, standing at 5/1 at GentingBet and 11/2 at MansionBet, Fun88, RedZoneSports, and SportPesa. The filly’s odds are great for many punters and experts as well, who consider the horse the main favourite should Dettori’s horse fails to meet expectations.

The Longchamp racecourse isn’t easy to win, which is why back-to-back triumphs are few and far between. This means that the odds for Sea of Class are certainly better than they look, especially from a punter’s point of view.

Cracksman – a Darkhorse Favourite?

With Frankie Dettori in the saddle, Cracksman, Enable’s stablemate, produced a number of brilliant wins in the past. Dettori praised the horse as a champion and true winner, and this season Cracksman already won at Longchamp after taking the Prix Ganay. As a 4-year old thoroughbred, the horse is certainly used to winning and is now considered one of the top racehorses in Europe.

If you ask certain experts, Cracksman will be their top choice for this year’s Arc – that’s how good the horse is. Enable’s stablemate was sharing the second spot in the list of favourites for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe earlier in the season but has now fallen down to third. MansionBet, SportPesa, Fun88, and RedZoneSports give Cracksman odds of 15/2, while GentingBet has him available at 13/2.

Now, these odds don’t look like much of a winner, but let’s not forget that Cracksman is already considered one of the top racehorses in Europe. With a bit of luck, he can stun the crowd just like Enable did last year and bring you a nice return for a reasonable bet. If we were betting on the Longchamp race, Cracksman would definitely be one of our picks.

Other Challengers

Beyond Cracksman, the other racehorses on the list aren’t given great chances at winning the Ark. This doesn’t mean that there will be no surprises – the challenging racecourse is pretty difficult to win at, so the chances of a horse triumphing two years in a row aren’t exactly great, even if Enable’s odds are low. This means that Sea of Class, Cracksman and other challengers such as Waldgeist definitely have a chance and should be given a look at.

Arc De Triomphe Odds 2019

Waldgeist is currently placed behind Enable, Sea of Class, and Cracksman, available at 10/1 at GentingBet and 9/1 at SportPesa, MansionBet, RedZoneSports, and Fun88. Although there are 3 favourites in front of the racehorse, experts are adamant that with a bit of luck, anything can happen. The odds are certainly great and may bring you a lot of money if Waldgeist triumphs at the Arc.

Three-year-old thoroughbred Kew Gardens and his jockey Ryan Moore are next on the list. The Irish racehorse won at St Leger (Doncaster) recently and grew into a world-class stayer, so his chances at the Arc shouldn’t be diminished. Kew Gardens is placed just after Waldgeist on the list of favourites, with odds of 14/1 at SportPesa, Fun88, RedZoneSports, MansionBet, and GentingBet as well. Just like Waldgeist, the Irish racehorse doesn’t look like a favourite on paper, but when the time comes, we wouldn’t be surprised if he puts pressure on the favourites and wins the race.
